We reviewed the GEEKOM A8 mini PC with an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS, 32GB DDR5, and 2 TB SSD as offered here a few months ago and found it to work great in both Windows 11 Pro and Ubuntu 24.04 with outstanding performance, high-speed wired and wireless networking, the fastest NVMe SSD we’ve tested so far in mini PCs, smooth 8K YouTube video playback and more. The main downside was in Linux where Bluetooth would not work, but Bluetooth support has now been fixed if you install Linux 6.10 on Ubuntu 24.04. As usual for this type of high-end mini PC, there’s also some fan noise and CPU thermal and power throttling under heavy loads, but nothing out of the ordinary.
