Quectel FLM263D 2.4 GHz WiFi 6 and BLE 5.2 RISC-V module supports Amazon Alexa Connect Kit (ACK) SDK for Matter

Quectel Wireless FLM263D is a standalone WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 LE module with a 320 MHz RISC-V microcontroller that supports Alexa Connect Kit (ACK) SDK for Matter for connectivity with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, Apple HomeKit, and other Matter-compliant Smart Home devices.

The module also implements security standards such as secure boot and Mbed TLS encryption. The FLM263D offers certifications such as Works with Alexa (WWA) and supports features such as Matter Simple Setup (MSS) that allows zero-touch setup of Matter-compliant smart home devices through Alexa.

Quectel FLM263D dimensionsQuectel offers a FLM263DAATB-0P-04 development board for debugging, but I could not find any public details. There’s no alternative SDK, so the WiFi 6 and BLE 5.2 module only works with the ACK SDK for Matter. The company says it’s especially suited for smart lighting applications including smart bulbs.

Other Alexa Connect Kit-compatible hardware include the ESP32-PICO-V3-Zero module and associated development board, and Amazon also announced the Beken BK7235 Wi-Fi 6 MCU chip was supported by the new ACK SDK for Matter last January. Amazon developer’s website also lists the Mediatek WM-BN-MT-52 module as being supported by Alexa Connect Kit.

Queclte did not provide availability information, and the company also plans to roll out additional Smart Home modules geared towards smart switches, smart plugs, and other smart household applications.  Further details can be found on the product page and in the press release.

Thanks to TLS for the tip.
