ECS LIVA X3A – A Rockchip RK3588-powered fanless Android 12 mini PC with four HDMI ports

Powered by a Rockchip RK3588 processor, ECS LIVA X3A fanless Android 12 mini PC is designed for digital signage and self-service kiosks with its four HDMI output ports capable of driving three 4K displays and an additional Full HD display.

ECS is better known for its x86 mini PCs, but the company also introduced Rockchip Arm-based platforms in the past with the LIVA Q1A (RK3288/RK3399) and LIVA M300-W (RK3399K) mini PCs as well as the ECS-RK3568 3.5-inch SBC. The latest LIVA X3A fanless mini PC features the most powerful Rockchip processor, namely the RK3588 octa-core Cortex-A76/A55 SoC.

ECS LIVA X3A with 4G LTE box

While I quite like the idea of adding expansion boxes, it’s unclear how the company connects the 4G LTE box to the main system, as I was unable to find photos showing the rear panel of the mini PC. I’m also confused with the “PoE box” mentioned by the company since I can also see one Ethernet port with PoE support… Or that one is for an external PoE camera, and the PoE box would also the user to power the mini PC over PoE.

The LIVA X3A runs Android 12 with support for screen mirroring and video walls with four displays showing one image, but 3-and-1 and 2-and-2 configurations can also be handled by the digital signage player. The company also offers an “embedded digital signage content push application” which I suppose is a digital content management system similar to Xibo so content can be dynamically updated remotely and scheduled.

ECS shows the LIXA X3A Android 12 mini PC as “coming soon” on the product page and pricing has not been disclosed (and probably won’t be public). More details may be found on the product page and in the press release, and ECS will showcase it along with its other products at the ISE 2024 conference on January 30 – February 2, 2024.
