Shenzhen Zvidar Technologies’ Z-GW-V01, also known as the Zvidar Smart Gateway is a single board computer powered by an Allwinner A133 quad-core Cortex-A53 processor and running Ubuntu with the Home Assistant open-source automation framework.
The SBC provides Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 5, and Bluetooth connectivity by default, but also supports plenty of optional wireless modules with Z-Wave, Zigbee, Thread/Matter, LoRa, or 4G LTE connectivity that are either soldered to the board connected by a mini PCIe socket. The board also includes a few USB ports, and it’s apparently possible to connect a 7-inch display and/or audio interfaces if needed.

On the software side, we are told the Zvidar Smart Gateway runs “Ubuntu 18.02”, which does not exist, so I’d assume Ubuntu 18.04 since Allwinner likes running older versions of operating systems, but Android 10.0 and “Linux” are also said to be supported. The company highlights that the Allwinner A133 gateway is based on Home Assistant, so I’d assume the Home Assistant framework has been installed on Ubuntu 18.04.
While most of the optional modules appear to be soldered-on modules based on the PCB design, Zvidar does offer a range of USB dongles such as the Z-DG-01 Zigbee coordinator dongle and the Z-GW-V20 (Z-Wave 800 series) USB dongle both of which should work with other system based on Home Assistant. The Z-DG-01 dongle is listed on Blakadder and confirmed to work with both ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT in Home Assistant. There’s also the Zvidar Z-Pi-V01/Z-Pi 800 (Z-Wave 800 series) GPIO shield meant to be connected to a Raspberry Pi via a 10-pin header.
What we don’t know at this time is the pricing for the Zvidar Z-GW-V01 Smart Gateway, as all we get is limited information from the product page. The Z-DG-Z01 Zigbee 3.0 coordinator dongle based on EFR32MG21 seems to be more readily available and can be purchased for 29.99 Euros including VAT on Domadoo (France) or NOK 478.40 on Tronika (Norway).
