CompuLab UCM-iMX93 – A miniature NXP i.MX 93 module with WiFi 5 & Bluetooth 5.3

CompuLab UCM-iMX93 is a miniature system-on-module powered by the new NXP i.MX93 Cortex-A55 AI processor family with up to 2GB RAM and 64GB eMMC flash.

The tiny 38x28mm features a Gigabit Ethernet PHY, a WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless modules, and plenty of multimedia, communication, and peripheral interfaces through two 100-pin high-density connectors including display and camera interfaces, USB ports, CAN FD, and up to 79 GPIOs.

Compulab provides support for mainline Linux, the Yocto Project, and an RTOS via full Board Support Packages (BSPs) and ready-to-run images. Its feature set, low cost, and small size make the UCM-iMX93 suitable for building and industrial control, medical devices, IoT gateways, and measurement equipment.

The company also offers a development kit based on the SB-UCMIMX93 carrier board with Gigabit Ethernet, USB ports, MIPI CSI and LVDS display interfaces. a MIPI CSI camera interface, a mini PCIe socket for optional 4G LTE connectivity, RS485 and RS232 serial interfaces, CAN Bus, and more.

The development kit ships with a 1.5GHz UCM-iMX93 system-on-module with 2GB RAM, 32GB eMMC flash, a 5-inch WXGA LCD with capacitive touch panel, WiFi antennas and cables, a serial port cable, a USB cable and adapter, and a 12V power supply. A full carrier-board design package with schematics, BOM, and PCB layout is provided with the kit, so customers can easily build their own carrier board.

Compulab is selling the UCM-iMX93 system-on-module for $39 and up depending on options, while the full development kit goes for $385. Availability of the module is guaranteed until at least 2038. Lol, plus 15 for WiFi, in 1000s way to blow the pricing out of the water.

I though “neat”, but the $39 price is w/o wifi, ethernet, single core SoM in 1k quantities.
CM-4 seems way better.
