iWave Systems iW-RainboW-G55M is an OSM Size L compliant system-on-module based on Texas Instruments AM62A single to quad-core Cortex-A53 processor with up to 8GB RAM, 128GB eMMC flash, and a wireless module with WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and 802.15.4 radios.
The iW-RainboW-G55M can leverage the vision processing and deep learning accelerator and the Arm Cortex-R5F real-time cores for control and device management found in the AM62A processor, as well as its display and camera interfaces, peripheral and networking options, to develop products for “man-machine applications at the edge”.

The company provides support for Linux on the Cortex-A53 cores and FreeRTOS for the Cortex-R5F cores. The TI AM62A module appears to be pin-to-pin compatible with the earlier iW-RainboW-G50M OSM-L system-on-module and as such works with the same carrier board that offers dual gigabit Ethernet, two CAN headers, one USB 2.0 OTG port, two USB 2.0 host port, a microSD card, audio in and out jacks, a MIPI CSI connector, an RS232, and a full function UART.
There may be some differences in terms of the exact features due to the differences between NXP i.MX 93 and Texas Instruments AM62A processors. iWave Systems also provides hardware and software documentation, and a Linux 5.10.153 or higher BSP, but every document is only available after leaving your email and getting manually approved by a company’s representative including the product brochure!
While the company says “the System-on-Module and Single Board Computer are go-to-market and production-ready” we don’t have clear availability information, and you are required to request a quote to get pricing information for the module, development kit, and optional enclosure. Additional information may be found on the product page.
