Astro Slide 5G Transformer has launched on Indiegogo crowdfunding platform with a funding goal of 180,000 Euros. Perks start at 491 Euros for the early bird reward, and the retail price is expected to be 819 Euros. Shipping adds 36 Euros to the United Kingdom and 45 to 63 Euros to other counties. Backers will have to wait nearly one year to get their phone shipped (March 2021) if everything goes according to plans.
Just a note of caution. While Planet Computers has already successfully brought to market two such phones, and COVID-19 pandemic will hopefully be under control by March 2021, the economic and financial repercussions are uncertain, and we should expect a fair amount of bankruptcies occurring this year and next, so it’s still even risker than usual to pledge money into crowdfunding campaigns.
