N4100, meh
8GB RAM, yay
128GB SSD, yay
11.6 inch FHD screen, nay
IPS screen, yay
Biggest down, 11.6 inch screen (even it’s IPS), popular ones are 14 inch laptops, maybe next time go with that, along with N5000 processor?
Acer almost only who offers smaller (14 inch) N5000 included laptops, has 8GB RAM and 128/256GB SSD.
“$369.99 with free worldwide shipping.” plus 21% VAT plus 4% import duty. So around 470 USD?
I recently bought a HP i3 core, 14 inch screen, SSD, for 469 Euro. So with HP service and guarantee, and EU consumer rights. I prefer that over an Asian solution.
Well, you know CNXSOFT sometimes has to write about very futile devices just to justify the $$$ Gearbest gives to this blog
Usually (but not always) you don’t pay those taxes as value mentioned on the box is below or at the limit in your country. This means that you can still get it for ~320 EUR or lower later on.
This is actually a very nice device for traveling and backup machine. I like the small size (11″ is the smallest decent keyboard experience) and I hope it’s fanless. I wonder what they mean by “quick charge” (USB PD or Qualcomm QC).
on Finland verkkokauppa.com, we got offer for Acer Aspire 3 with 7130U + 4GB RAM + 128GB SSD with 15.6inch FHD screen, 363 euros 😀 out of stock pretty fast.
+ 8GB RAM with it (total of 12GB!) and should work just fine. Dual channel + enough free RAM, compared to stock 4GB single channel it’s slow even on first installation 😀
You can buy a fair spec laptop off Dell Outlet for this kind of money, and get a keyboard to match your country, and a warranty!
Just to demystify, you cannot run it in dual channel if the memories are of different sizes and/or different timings. At least that is what I remember from ddr3, don’t know about ddr4.
This would be a great Chromebook, but as a Windows machine? Nah.
received mine yesterday, KUbuntu boots nicely.
Only problem is the wifi-driver for the intel 3265 dual band AC 3165 modem is missing, so no wifi at start. Maybe I’ll remix a KUbuntu version including my driver.
Oh and touchscreen (windows says display is LC116LF3L01 is it the GoodixTouchDriver Device from Shenzhen Huiding Technology?) is also not working in KUbuntu… but I’ll try to get behind that too.
Both wifi and touch worked in KUbuntu out of the box on my chuwi hi13 which I had before.
Android Oreo 8.1 x86 booted but also did not register touch interactions.
Hello,
Have you news?
I want buy it and install KDE Neon.
Thanks!
KUbuntu 18.04.1 with newest kernel 4.18.5 does not help: wifi still not working. I use the Intel driver vers. 14 from their website. Funny thing is that the Intel 3165 is wifi and bluetooth combined aaaand the bluetooth is working. Got my mouse connected without problems.
Touchscreen: later. First priority is wifi 🙂
I’m able to boot 18.04.1 Mate everything works out of the box – touchscreen, wifi, trackpad but I’m unable to wake from suspend. I’ve had to disable suspend to ram (S3) in the bios. Were you able to get this working?
