Except for the odd industrial motherboard, most Gemini Lake motherboards launched so far rely on an ATX connector and power supply, but if you prefer a DC powered Gemini Lake motherboard, ECS now provides several options thanks to their GLKD-I series mini-ITX motherboards equipped with Gemini Lake processor.

The company support Windows 10 64-bit /32-bit, and provides Windows drivers via the product page. Linux distributions should be supported, but as usual this should be tested. No price, nor availability information yet.

An Intel NUC NUC7CJYH with Celeron J4005, including power supply and housing, is 110 euro (incl VAT).
So this ECS motherboard must be … 50 euro to be interesting?
Since products like Syba’s SD-ADA40118 are available (M.2 card with a 4 port Marvell SATA controller attached via 2 PCIe lanes) you could build a fanless NAS with up to 6 disks by combining this board with an appropriate enclosure. Makes not that much sense of course. 🙂
A M.2 to 4 Port SATA III RAID Adapter … cool. Pity it’s 75 USD.
