Amlogic S812 processor is an upgrade of S802 processor with HEVC/H.265 hardware video decoding up to 3840×2160 resolution, and Gigabit Ethernet support, and it looks like the first Android TV boxes will start shipping by early November, starting with Xtreamer Wonder “TV entertainment system” running Android 4.4 Kitkat and XBMC / Kodi.

The box will run Android 4.4 Kitkat with Xtreamer ver 2.0 UI, and ship with Xtreamer AirMouse, an HDMI cable, a power adapter, and a quick start guide.
There should not be hardware differences between S812 and S812-H SoC, expect the latter will come with an SDK supporting Dolby Digital & DTS with the right licenses, and any media app in Android should be able to handle these audio formats. 5-ch and 7-ch pass-though is said to be supported too.
Amlogic S812 is also supposed to support Gigabit Ethernet, but this box seems limited to 10/100M Ethernet, which could be an issue with some high bitrate (>60 Mbps) 4K videos, so the only advantage using S812-H or S802-H with this device is H.265 support.

Yes, correct, and so was Amlogic S805. It looks like Amlogic may have issues with Gigabit Ethernet.
Any box serious about utilizing it’s potential 4K capability, should come with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 along with gigabit Ethernet and I do hope its not another box that downscales 4K playback to 1080p first !? Unfortunately any Android based media box is video crippled until Android TV (with Android L) comes out that will finally be able to support auto framerate detection (assuming existing boxes will get the updates ?). In faq (http://www.xtreamer.net/Wonder/faq.html) there is a sentence “…. delivers to your TV a high quality up-to 1080p HD video playback ….”. This means no real 4k playback?

Maybe they forgot to change the text… Anyway, even though it will decode 4K videos, and should output 4K over HDMI, it’s likely the video will be downscaled to 1080p somewhere during processing, but they all do that.

I’ve placed order and been waiting for delivery since October and still product is not availible. Might be possible that this product not existant at all.

I’ve contacted them to check whether it’s shipping or not.
I’m a bit lazy / bored testing another S812 device (I have three now), so I have not asked for a sample.
According to their forum they are shipping because users already have devices. But wonder how much of them got the device.
Xtreamer is known to announce devices way to early and then can’t deliver in time.

Hi Kolki, does it downscale 4k content to 1080p like people have said above?
The Wonder does not run Netflix in HD only very very Jerky SD plus BBC I player does not work either its a very poor product

My Netflix is up to date, and the quality still sucks on this device
