Other than the extra usb ports (which are welcome) and the male hdmi connector (for my usage I do prefer the female connectors), do you know what other differences are there between this and the good old mk802? In particular, does it have ESD protection and power supply chips like the Oval Elephant does? What about bluetooth?
Thanks!
@ sao
Sorry I don’t know about the ESD protection, some knowledgeable persons should be able to tell you by just looking at the PCBA pictures above.
They provide an HDMI female to male cable, so it can be connected either directly into the TV or via a cable, just like how it would be with a stick with an HDMI female.
@ sao
At PCB Top picture, near the HDMI connector there is 3pcs components veritically aligned. Those are probably ESD protectors, size and footprint matches.
Extra points:
Added ESD
Added power protect circle
Soft turn on/off.
HDMI connector pop out

Is kernel source available?
@none
Yes, it’s just the same kernel source as other A10 devices.
@Jean-Luc Aufranc (CNXSoft) : this device is no more available (announced EOL in january 2013 by Asiapads)
too fast to permit to a community to grow up … i purchased 3 of these unit !
easy to use, no lag with HD vids, but limited lifetime due to poor support and no update available (4.3)
