Within less than a week, a new image for Raspberry Pi Debian has been released as well as an Arch Linux image.
Debian 6 can be downloaded via:

The audio driver (ALSA) is apparently not that stable, so it is disabled by default. You can load the module with the following command:
modprobe snd_bcm2835
